In my residential new standing seam roof build, I was told a clip system would be used. I later found out a nail strip was being used. My concern is some runs are over 40 feet and my research cautions nail strip panels are “not recommended for panel lengths over 30 feet”
Should I be concerned that the builder used a nail strip system ( on panels exceeding 30ft) instead of the agreed up clip system.

Or copy this URL: https://www.metalroofing.com/spirit/comment/26072/find/Both can make good roofs. You are correct on the general recommendation that nail hem panels not be over 25' or 30'. However, I have seen people run them much longer and have not known them to cause problems.
All that said, generally, clip systems are more expensive systems and also often have taller seams.
Are the panels showing much rippling / oil canning?
I think getting someone out to inspect is probably wise. I know that we've been emailing directly and I did refer you to an independent roof consultants' group.

My only option is having another roofing company inspect the roof and prepare a report of its deficiencies. This is not optional but for a 50K roof, with such poor craftsmanship so far, I want to be assured the problems are corrected. I appreciate your help.
