I recently had a standing seam roof, put on my home. I liked it so I decided to have them the same company come back and do my barn, and el. I noticed a discrepancy with the workmanship on the new section versus the old section. The bottom of the standing seams of the new section are sealed. The bottom of the standing seam on the old sections are not..
I guess my question now is what is the first roof installed improperly. What kind of problems could I expect to have with the open end seams.?
Any input would be really helpful. I feel like I had a bad install on the first roof, but not sure if it matters really.
See photos.

I have never seen any issues from them being left open (42 years experience). You could seal them with color-matched sealant if you wish. Thanks for choosing metal!
