noise reduction

I have a standing seam metal roof that was laid directly on peel-and-stick underlayment on 4.5" polyurethane SIPS panels on a timber-frame structure. There is no air gap between the metal and the underlayment (should I be concerned about this?). The problem is the noise induced from rain, pine cones, etc hitting the roof is absolutely unbearable. The SIPS panels act like a big drum. A pine cone hitting the roof sounds like a gunshot inside the house. Heavy rain makes sleeping impossible, and I live in the northwest where it rains ALOT. I have to do something to reduce the noise. I do not need any more insulation (the SIPS are R33 and are vapour impermeable) and cannot do anything on the inside of the house to help the situation. I've found two possibilities that I think might help. Both involve pulling up the metal roof, and I've decided I'm just going to have to do it because the current situation is not bearable. Some expert opinion would be greatly appreciated. Option 1: Place Enkamat 7010 (a 1/4" spaghetti mesh) between the metal and the underlayment to isolate the metal from the SIPS. They claim about a 10dB reduction in sound. I don't think this airspace can hurt, but wondering if there will be enough of a sound reduction to make the effort worthwhile. Option 2: Place Prodex Total (a 1/4" fancy alum foil backed bubble wrap) between the metal and underlayment. I've read a 19dB reduction is possible. But I'm concerned about the need for an air gap, or what trouble could result without an air gap. Option 3: A combination of the two. That is, placing the enkamat, then the prodex on top of the enkamat, then the metal on top of the prodex. Or maybe lay the prodex first then the enkamat. I really don't know or understand what trouble either of these combinations could cause. I'd really appreciate some expert advice. I wouldn't bother with some of the materials you have mentioned. If you are tearing off the roof (sorry to..pardon the pun...hear that), than I would put the roof down on a system of purlins that have some sound damping material between the purlins and the roof deck. The larger the airspace you can run, the better. How many square feed of roof are we talking about? We can get complex and certainly don't want to be doing this over.
