New Roof Bowing, Dents and Bends

Good Morning Experts, sorry if this was addressed before but, I have been stressed about my Metal Roof install since the Contractor put a 100lb Ladder against my brand new gutters on the first measurement. Its a $24,000 Standing Seam job I am paying cash for that I expected would look flawless.

I had the Dream of having a brand new metal roof. I imagined it would look super straight up close not just from 100ft away. I thought I could walk up to my house and see nice straight lines, no bowing, dents or creases.

Is a Brand new Metal roof supposed to have these eyesores 3/4 into the install? Isn't a new Metal roof supposed to look new and straight. I have an artistic eye and is it just me? I looked up Oil canning and this inst that.

My contractor ordered the 26Ga metal that arrived on a truck. The driver and I noticed there was some damage on a couple long panels but, no way to see if anything else was damaged from the crane to the truck. Driver said someone lifted it wrong at the plant. No big deal if the damaged metal will get identified and replaced later.

My house was a 1976 we bought 3 years ago in Florida and we had 18yo shingles that were leaking in some areas and a fair amount of the boards underneath needed replacing and repair. About 5 boards worth they used. The Metal installed on the front of the house has some concave bowing in one area and the rear of the house has a very noticeable Convex bow that looks really bad like a water slide. The Non Contractor supervisor said the front has bowing in the wood and that causes that. I am assuming when I show him the rear hell say the same thing. Is this really negligence and is hes blaming the house? Shouldn't the team put a long level on the roof to see defects to address before the metal install weather it needs to be shimmed or under the Truss structure, etc?

I was a Pilot in the ARMY for 20 years, I also work on cars and do everything with tools so, I think I have an eye for anything wrong. So, am I freaking out for nothing? Is this the contractors doing too many roofs at once and no time to check out mine? I have not had a contractor on my roof during the entire project. Only his supervisor has come by the house who inst a worker or contractor.

So far I had the owner Dent my brand new seamless Gutter using my 40' ladder instead of getting his light one in the truck. Worker stepped through my ceiling, Supervisor covered my AC for 3 hours and it over heated and shut down. I asked to please protect my gutters, I have any tool they needed and they were slapping the metal against them and dragging them up. I had to yell at them a 5th time and give them a moving blanket if they were going to do that. They also pried off my DirecTv Dish instead of using a wrench and left it hanging by the Coax to name some. Now these defects. I was hoping if anything the Roof would look perfect and I can live with honest mistakes.

Please tell me its me or should I be worried?

Thanks for the reply this early. Kinda getting bent out of shape about this esp after what he text me last night.

Before I signed I told him I had an repair only expert go up in the attic and said there were problems and leaks.
I asked him to go up in the attic to be sure before we started. 2 min later he came back down. He stated they will replace up to 6 pieces of decking for free. He’s the contractor I am taking his word he knows what he’s talking about.

I told him if you say so we’ll get another opinion.
