I am a contractor in Cape Coral Florida. Our roofing contractor installed a metal roof and we are having problems with it making what I believe are expansion and contraction noises. The company has installed many metal roofs for us and never have had any problems. I would like to have an metal roof expert come and look to see if there is some possible install problem with the roof. Both the roofing contractor and I are at a loss. This roof was installed about a year ago, the noises move along with the sun across the home. Any suggestions for and expert?

Clip fastened? Nail hem fastened" Exposed fastener? What is the rafter length? Can you post photos of the roof or send them to me at [email protected]?

What is underneath the roof in regards to decking or purlin and also underlayment? What is directly behind the metal panels? Do you notice any buckling / rippling in the metal panels themselves? Are there any ripples / waves in the roof structure?

I am wondering a little bit whether, with the radiant barrier, the ice and watershield isn't softening and sticking to the back of the roof panels, causing more pops and sounds as the metal expands and contracts.
