I have a metal roof that has a gritty surface and is barrel shaped. I have tried all kinds of cleaners to get rid of the mildew/mold. Years ago I reached out to your group and was told a solution of soap and water would do the trick. Tried it and no luck. Nothing has worked.
After exhausting all options the contractor finally used straight chlorine on the roof. It killed the mildew/mold but unfortunately has removed most of the grit. The metal is now exposed which I have to believe has compromised the roof due to rusting. My homeowners association is on me to clean the roof again. I am afraid to do the same process.
Questions I have;
1) I have been told of a product Roof-A-Cide. Any experience using it? If so what are your opinions of this product being used on a roof like mine?
2) I need a long term solution. Is there any way to pressure clean my existing roof blowing all the grit off of it and then coating it with some materials (elastomeric?) finally painting it? My roof is currently 2 or 3 colors due to the chlorine treatment.
I am not sure if my only solution is to simply tear the metal off and go with a traditional cement/concrete roof. I would hate to do it but I am getting a feeling it my be my only option.
Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. I am in desperate need of some help. Thanks.

I am sorry to hear of your experiences. The leading manufacturers of these products in the US are Decra and Boral Steel Tile. Have you contacted them for recommendations?

Todd,
Thanks for your response. I just saw it. I was looking through the forums for a response from your team. I will reach out to these companies. I am not sure who the manufacturer is (trying to locate our documentation). I am sure either will be able to assist us with general questions.
Thanks again.
