2 weeks ago had aluminum standing seam system installed with stainless clips every 12 inches. House located at beach.
Today we had 40-45 mph winds. Lots of rattling noise. Sounded like heavy rain with big drops splattering roof. Not raining at all.
Roof has a decent slope as house 2 stories on one side, rising to 3 stories on other, like a wedge. Roofer used 50 ft panels to avoid seams. Noise worst on the higher end.
Prior roof was a roll material installed directly on top of about 4 inches styrofoam insulation. For the new job, the crew had to add framing and decking so the clips would have something to bite into.
Going to call roofer tomorrow, but hoped to get some ideas here. Does this sound to be a problem with clips? Thanks so much.

The installation sounds pretty spot on to be honest and the contractor sounds like he was pretty thorough.
I would start with him and see what he says.
