Hello,
I have a really old building with a metal roof. The metal is installed right on to the house without any felt or under layers. There is condensation dripping down on to the ceiling and went through my drywall in one of my rooms. In this section of the roof, there is no insulation. Is there anyway to stop the condensation or stop the drips?
I thought about putting down plastic and then layering with insulation, but I don't want it to get too moist and humid.
Any help is appreciated!

I would try to figure out what has caused it to happen now and see if that situation can be reversed. However, things that come to mind include Ventilation beneath the roof, Insulation on top of the ceilings, Vapor barrier behind the ceilings, Reducing ambient humidity level, and Running interior HVAC fans and ceiling fans to help keep the air stirred up. I would also do a thorough check to ensure the roof isn't leaking.
