My mother recently purchased a house in Jacksonville NC. She loves the house for all the low maintenance exterior items to include the vinyl siding and metal roof. She was walking around the house recently and noticed that the back of the house has some vertical color markings or stains. She has tried to wash these markings off the siding with soap and water but was unsuccessful. She sent me some pictures. the house doesn't have gutters on the back. The stain appears to start directly under the roof line and continues to the foundation.
Two questions: what might be the cause of this stain and how would we remove the stain?
