Hello,
I have a 5/12 pitch metal roof at my house on Kure Beach in North Carolina that is approximately 2 years old. We love the roof, but have a serious problem with water intrusion at the ridge vent during hurricanes and other high wind/rain events.
I would like to replace the current stock ridge vent and replace it with a better product; one more designed for higher winds.
Can you recommend a vent design or product that can better withstand horizontal driving rain?

It sounds like your situation is worse than "some water" though. One key is making sure you have as much or more intake venting as exhaust. If anything, your attic should be just slightly pressurized to keep air flowing the right way, which helps keep water out of your exhaust vents. I would look perhaps at the Cor A Vent assembly or check with your metal roofing manufacturer to see if they have an all metal vent with small pierced holes or stainless steel screening.
