I have a galvalume standing steam roof installed in 2011. About 3 years later 5 of the panels center front of the roof became discolored. In the following years I consulted with the house builder, the roof installer, and roof fabricator. Several dusted the surfaces and dismissed the discoloration as "dust" -easily removed. No one explained why and how this discoloration occurred.
The fabricator recommended leaving the panels alone to blend in over time.
Four years later I decided to try the cleaning the entire roof to get the panels to match. The fabricator said that was a sound approach and if done correctly would not void their warranty.
Finding a firm to bid this work was hard, but one tested his cleaning technique this past weekend. The technique worked but he discovered that the five panels in question were from a "different batch" than the rest of the roof and apparently weathered differently.
I am trying to get the bottom of this and need recognized experts:
to certify the differences between the panels' "metallurgy" and how that could cause the difference in weathering, and to suggest technical solutions to rectify the problem of a strong contrast in color between panels.

I am not sure how the person coming to your house could have made a definitive determination. There are metal labs around the country that can do analysis but I am not sure they can get you the level of granularity you are seeking. Have you gotten the fabricator involved to the point of where they have identified their metal supplier?

I will try to send you a photo to illustrate. I have an error msg when I try. I will keep at it.
