I’m the homeowner and this install was completed yesterday. It is a metal sales image II 24 gauge 16” panel roof. The guys were wrapping up today when I noticed that the last panel did not line up with the rake trim. That and the fact the trim is twice the width as the other side. I understand that wider trim is used to hide unevenness, but it definitely couldn’t hide this issue. Also, why didn’t they place a similar trim on the other side to make it look even. Company owner is coming out to look at it today. Any ideas how I should ask for this to be fixed? Workers said roof wasn’t square.

Sometimes you can pick up on these things and prepare a bit better for them but the large dormer definitely complicated things. See what they say but probably no easy way to fix.

I’ve lurked these forums since deciding on a metal roof and appreciate all of your posts helping out homeowners. I’ll definitely wait and see what they say today, but do you have any ideas what would be the most effective technique to lessen the issue as I understand it likely won’t be perfect. I just want to have an idea so that I know they’re not choosing the easy cheap fix vs a potentially more involved bet solution.

Check distance from gable to gable at top and bottom of the roof. It almost looks like the right side gable may simply flare out at the ridge. Removing that gable overhang and re-building would not be an easy option but may help. It all may be optical illusions though ... someone needs to measure and figure out where things get messed up.
