Live in an 85-year old house with a ton roof. Roof is fine except where slope meets a flat area over the back of the house. Tired of constant seem repairs & considering metal roof install using the roof hugger system.
Is any kind of vapor barrier or insulation required?
The trouble-prone area of the roof faces south & is currently not well insulated due to the narrow space between structure & tin.
Can I add insulation without worry about deterioration of underlying tin?

The RoofHugger folks are great so I really suggest asking them your questions. A vapor barrier typically is placed behind the drywall in a home to prevent moisture from driving into the roof or wall assemblies and condensing. A moisture barrier would usually be part of the roof assembly to prevent rain water from getting inside. Insulation would usually be someplace between the vapor barrier and the moisture barrier.
