We had a MasterRib (Union Corrugating) roof installed 3 years ago. We live in NH w/ lots of snow. Since then, the roof leaks every winter at the valleys once there is a little snow/ice buildup followed by melt. Contractor has been out multiple times to attempt fixes; emseal at the open ribs wasn't installed originally- it has since been applied, but doesn't seem to make a good seal. Original contractor also missed other sealants during the original install...and has since been corrected...but still we leak. Never leaked before this roof was installed. My question really is- because of our location, weather and configuration of our roof with valleys, was this just an inappropriate roofing choice that should not have been suggested by the contractor? Also, though we're told it was installed, I'm not sure if the I&W was installed properly, and to the extent needed in our location. At this point, should the roof be ripped off and re-done? Thoughts, suggestions? Looking for expert advice please. Thank you!

That said, in climates such as yours, a metal roof with cleats in the valleys that the panel ends lock over is preferable to one where you're just trying to seal the panels to the valley. I would say at the very least replacing the panels and valleys is wise but I'd prefer to see a cleated valley. Has the valley type you have worked successfully in your area though? I am sure it has.
